Richard Carroll was killed around 3 p.m. Friday, July 20, after his 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 4-by-4 pickup truck hit the Highland Avenue overpass bridge, according to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. He was the lone occupant of the vehicle.
The crash is under investigation by the Massachusetts State Police.
The 72-year-old Carroll was a 27-year resident of New Canaan and coached youth soccer and basketball.
Visiting hours will be held at the Hoyt Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday at St. Matthew Church in Norwalk.
